CRETE, Neb. – The Midland Warriors defense was too much for Doane, who held the Tigers scoreless in their final home game of the season.

Midland got on the board early in the first quarter after a bad snap on a punt by Doane, which gave the Warriors the ball at the eight yard line.

Kenesaw native Tyson Denkert punched in a 2-yd touchdown to give Midland the 7-0 lead. Denkert also ran in another touchdown in the first quarter to make it 14-0.

After that, the Doane defense held, but couldn't score on offense for a 17-0 Midland lead at halftime.

Denkert pushed across his third touchdown of the game in the 3rd quarter to put the game on ice, 24-0. He finished with 29 carriers for 134 yards and three touchdowns.

Doane was held to 138 total yards on offense and only got in the Midland red zone one time. Midland totaled 361 yards on offense.

Midland improved to 6-4 and will play at home vs. Concordia next Saturday, and Doane fell to 2-8 and will conclude its season on the road at Mt. Marty next Saturday.
