One Win Away: Nebraska looks to clinch bowl eligibility at home
LINCOLN, Neb. - The last time Nebraska reached a bowl game, the latest iPhone was the iPhone 7 and the president was Barack Obama.
Nebraska was last in a bowl game in 2016, but has yet another chance this Saturday to kick down the door and get win number six. On Tuesday, the Huskers discussed balancing the goal of gettin bowl eligible with long term goals of having a successful season.
"We know how important it is to the fans," Senior Defensive Lineman Ty Robinson said. "I think we all want the same thing and are focusing on one game and not jumping ahead in the weeks."
Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola said he just recently realized it's been eight years since the Huskers clinched a bowl.
"Giving the fans a guaranteed one more game, possibly more. This fanbase has been through a lot and been really loyal to everybody," Raiola said. "I think the focus is win this week and that gets us to six wins."
Nebraska takes on UCLA on Saturday, kicking off with the Bruins at 2:30 p.m. CT on BTN.
