Joshua J. Pollock
Joshua Pollock was born on June 10th, 1980, in Grand Island, NE to Jack and Margaret (Whyte) Pollock. He gained his wings on October 5, 2024, following complications from a motor vehicle accident.
Josh was the oldest of four siblings. In the words of his siblings, he was the Donatello to their TMNT, The Spike in their Land Before Time, the one who started it all- their big brother.
His family moved to Fairbury, NE in 1995 and he started attending Meridian Public School in 1997. It was there, in history class, that he enjoyed tormenting Laura, the girl who sat in front of him, by poking her in the back with pencils or tugging on her hair when she would ignore his whispered, "Hey! Hey!" Though he later admitted this is not a good way to get a date, it must have worked. Josh and Laura got married in 2001. By 2008, their family was completed by the addition of their three daughters.
Josh was not one to sit still and was always doing something, or thinking about how to do something. He was well known for his welding ability and fabrication, where he said he would "Make something out of nothing." Outside of work, he had many hobbies, including gardening and canning, lawn work, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and just tinkering. Josh was always accompanied by his silver lab, Penny, who was also known as the biggest tripping hazard he'd ever seen. He was the envy of many dads on move in days his oldest daughter's college campus when he showed up with his modified moving cart. He was always proud to tell people, "I made this, actually." He made wooden cutting boards, lamps, epoxied signs, knife handles, and many things too numerous to mention.
He enjoyed teaching his girls the fine arts of cooking, grilling, mowing, power tools, and tesla coils.
Josh is survived by his wife, Laura and daughters Patricia and Melony of Tobias, daughter Kaitlynn of Gardner, KS. He is also survived by his parents, Jack and Margaret Pollock of Fairbury; siblings, Angie (Mike) Bruna of Beatrice, Steph Pollock and fiancée Mark Trobaugh of Clarksville, TN, and Jacob (Lisa) Pollock of Ohiowa, NE. He is also survived by three nephews, one niece and many other relatives and friends.
