Paul R. Koenig
Paul R. Koenig, 87 years of age, of Beatrice passed away peacefully at home on the farm on Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Beatrice at the Lutheran Hospital to Leonard and Edna (Hahn) Koenig. Paul was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Lutheran Church near Harbine. He graduated from Beatrice High School. Paul served his country in the United States Army from April 9, 1957 to April 5, 1960, spending most of it in Germany before moving back to farm with his father. He married Minnie Forden on August 5, 1962. Paul was a lifelong farmer but enjoyed the time he spent driving a truck for Holtmeier Trucking. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Harbine where he was active and served on church council, Beatrice Rural Fire Department, Board of Directors at Plymouth Cooperative and the Flying Conestogas. Paul enjoyed farming, flying and especially his family.
Paul is survived by his son, David Koenig of Beatrice; daughter, Karen Koenig of Jacksonville, Florida; sons-in-law, Dana Rossow of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Jim Renner of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Erika Rossow, Aaron Rossow, Johanna Uditsky and husband Darius, Carmen and Ava Renner, Sydney Koenig; very close family friend, Sabrina Johnson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minnie on March 11, 2023; daughters, Dr. Crystal Rossow and Dawn Koenig; brother, Ervin Koenig; and sister-in-law, Esther Renz and husband Loren.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church near Harbine with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Inurnment with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. A register book will be available on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice from 1 to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 PM.
