ODELL, Neb. -- More construction will begin on highways in southeast Nebraska, this one, near Odell.
A milling project will begin July 23 on N-8, weather permitting, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Cold milling is a process of removing deteriorated asphalt in preparation of placing a chip seal to improve the roadway surface and drivability.
State maintenance forces will be performing the project from reference post 68.5 to reference post 78.0, three miles east and six miles west of Odell.
The work is anticipated to take five days and traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers.
NDOT reminds motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up and to put phones down.
