Authorities resolve shooting scene in Crete
CRETE, Neb. (KOLN) - Multiple agencies responded to a shooting in Crete on Friday.
Details are sparse, but Saline County Emergency Manager John McKee confirmed authorities are responding to a shooting in the city.
Crews with Southwest Fire and Rescue responded to a home located near Parklane Street and Crestline Drive around 4:45 p.m.
The Nebraska State Patrol said situation has been resolved and that there is no threat to the public. Cody Thomas, the public information officer with the Nebraska State Patrol, is expected to provide an update shortly.
According to Doane University, a lockdown that was activated around 6 p.m. has been lifted for the campus.
A 10/11 reporter on the scene said an ambulance from Crete could be seen leaving the scene. Flight radar shows a helicopter with Children’s Hospital in Omaha has departed from the hospital in Crete.
