BEATRICE – A two-vehicle accident in northeast Kansas Sunday, was fatal for the driver of one of the vehicles.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the collision on U.S. Highway 24 about six miles east of Clay Center, Kansas, happened just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

92-year-old Marion Brenner, of Randolph, died from injuries at the Clay County Medical Center.  He was the driver of a 2017 Hyundai Sonata southbound on Utah Road, that failed to yield to a westbound 2007 Ford F-150 pickup, traveling U.S. 24. 

The pickup, driven by 44-year-old Jeff Sells, of Mankato, Kansas, collided with the car in the intersection.  Sells, 66-year-old Debra Sells and two juveniles in the pickup were not injured. 

Safety restraints were in use in the pickup, but the KHP said Brenner, the fatality victim…was not using a seatbelt.
