Marcella Ann Beachler, age 89 was born November 12, 1934, on the farm southwest of Mahaska, KS to Frank and Anne Kubes.  The oldest of three children.  Before she started elementary school in Reynolds, she had to learn to speak English because all that was spoken at her house was Czech.  She graduated in 1952 from Reynolds High School.  In 1954 she was united in marriage to Roscoe Beachler.  From this union three children were born, Terry Lee Beachler, Michael R. Beachler and Lori Ann Beachler.

     In the fall of 1971 they moved to Fairbury to own Frank’s Drive Inn.  After selling the store in 1986, she worked various jobs, video store, jewelry store, sale barn accountant, Schroeder’s Jack & Jill as a cake decorator and finally school cafeteria, until her retirement.

     Mom was the best old style cook… best fried chicken & potato salad maker, ever!!

     Marcella and Roscoe enjoyed traveling all over the United States,  Alaska, California, Florida Keys, Hawaii, Reno, NV, Georgia to name just a few.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anne Kubes, husband Roscoe, oldest son Terry Lee Beachler and brother Delbert Kubes.

     She is survived by, son Michael (Rita) Beachler, daughter Lori (Quince) Michl .  Grandchildren Dusty (Shelly) Beachler, Colby (Kayla) Beachler, Kylon (Anna) Fett and Caitlin (Rob) Wiedel.  Great Grandchildren, Brylee, Craig and Madison Wiedel, Connor, Emma, Morgan and Austin Beachler and Crawford Fett.  Sister Lorene “Lori”  (Bill) Shepherd, Reno, NV.

     Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Fairbury.  Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery.  Memorials are the Family’s Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. www.ge
