FAIRBURY, Neb. -- An event aimed at showcasing nostalgic cars and raising funds to help those in need? This car show had it all.

Jefferson Community Health and Life and the Heritage Foundation worked together to put together a Nostalgia Car Show Fundraiser at JCH&L’s parking lot Sunday.

The show’s second year running saw nearly 30 cars fill the parking lot for spectators to view, including residents from JCH&L's Gardenside Long Term Care Center.

Each car that was showcased sent in a donation, that would go help those at Gardenside get to attend events and get Christmas gifts during the holiday season.

Wayne Franzen, Activities Coordinator for the Heritage Care Center, said this is a way to benefit those at Gardenside with no family.

“Some of our residents no longer have families and this is a way to help benefit those residents that don’t have family anymore by buying Christmas gifts or having something to open during the holidays,” Franzen said.

The center accepts donations all year and donations can be sent to Franzen or people can call 402-729-6848 for more information.
