Fred Hoiberg named Co-Big Ten Coach of the Year

LINCOLN, NEB - At the start of the season, Nebraska was projected to be near the bottom of the Big Ten standings.
Fast forward about five months, the Huskers have had a record-setting campaign, going 22-9, being undefeated at home in Big Ten play. They've been led by Head Coach Fred Hoiberg, who has been named Co-Big Ten Coach of the year, sharing the honor with Purdue Head Coach Matt Painter.
This is Hoiberg’s second Coach of the Year award in his career. He was named the Big 12 Co-Coach of the Year in 2012 after guiding Iowa State to a 23-11 record.
Heading into the postseason, Nebraska currently sits at #37 in the NET rankings, with notable regular season wins over then #1 Purdue and #6 Wisconsin. If Nebraska is accepted into the NCAA Tournament, it'll be their first showing at the big dance since 2014.

Nebraska has a double bye at this weeks Big Ten Tournament. They are scheduled to be the last game of the quarterfinal session Friday evening.
