CRETE, Neb. -- Kaden Crawford, a sophomore pitcher for the Doane Tigers, was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week due to his complete game win over Missouri Baptist.

In Doane's 9-2 win over the Spartans, Crawford pitched seven innings and only allowed two hits and two walks. Besides two runs, Crawford recorded eight strikeouts and didn’t let the Spartans get on the scoreboard until the seventh inning.

Out of the 84 pitches that Crawford threw, 51 or 61% of pitches thrown were strikes by Crawford to the batters he faced.

Last season, Crawford started 14 games and put together a 8-3 record with 64 strikeouts and a 3.40 ERA. He only allowed 68 hits and 33 runs in 76.2 innings pitched.

This season, Crawford only pitched two games before his complete game, in which he secured the win over Columbia College with another complete game and allowed seven hits in a loss to William Penn.

With Doane sitting at a 13-1 mark on the season so far, the Tigers look to get back to the big stage after winning the GPAC and playing in Bellevue last year in the national tournament before losing to Oklahoma City University in the elimination game in extra innings.
