Deputies end late-night pursuit after flattening suspect’s tires near Sprague
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lancaster County deputies arrested a man after a chase through rural roads early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 1:15 a.m., a deputy spotted a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix run a stop sign near SW 86th Street and Olive Creek Road, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but it sped off, prompting a pursuit that reached speeds of 80 miles per hour. The suspect ran multiple stop signs during the chase, deputies said.
Stop sticks were deployed near Sprague on 54th Street and Saltillo Road, causing the car’s tires to deflate. The driver then lost control of the vehicle near 27th Street.
The driver, 36-year-old Brandon Imes, was arrested without incident and lodged on suspicion of fleeing to avoid arrest and two other misdemeanor warrants. He was also cited for fictitious plates, willful reckless driving and driving under suspension.
