Glenda F. (Schuck) Cook, 82, of Adams, died Monday morning, February 5, 2024, at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams.  She was born on September 21, 1941, to Alvin C. and Clara F. (Kloke) Schuck at Hastings.  Glenda attended a country school near Harvard and graduated from Harvard High School in 1959.  She went to Hastings College of Beauty where she obtained her beautician license.  She worked for the Beauty Academy for three years.  During that time, she met her husband, Ken and they were married on May 21, 1960.  The couple started their marriage, making a home in Trumbull for one year, then moving to Douglas in 1962. Glenda took a job with Woodmen Accident and Life as an accountant, retiring after 34 years.  In 1969, the family moved to Adams where they found their forever home.  After retiring from Woodmen, Glenda spent the next 16 years working at Adams Super Foods. Glenda and Ken were blessed with one son, Robert Dean.  She loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids, and looked forward to decorating her house for various holidays.   Glenda enjoyed shopping, putting puzzles together, canning, gardening, playing cards, attending and watching horse races, and taking trips to the casino.  She was an avid dog lover, devoted fan of both Husker volleyball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball, as well as any of the sports teams Ken coached.  Glenda took great pride in making sure her hair always looked perfect and enjoyed an occasional beer or two.

Survivors include her husband, Ken Cook of Adams; son, Robert and wife Janet of Superior; two grandsons, Kaedyn Cook and Tanner Krajnik and special friend, Dani; two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Henley Krajnik; sister-in-law, Ellora “Cookie” Rasmussen of Hastings; numerous nieces and nephews; pet dog, Sparky.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Clara Schuck; parents-in-law, Victor and Dorothy Cook; two sisters, Donna (Don) Wernke and Marilyn (George) Will; one brother, Ivor (Billie) Schuck.

The body will lie in state on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams with the family present to meet and greet friends.  Cremation will follow the Saturday visitation.  Inurnment of the cremains will be at a later date at the Highland Cemetery of Adams.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice.  www.foxfuneralhome.net.  Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Adams.
