Wilber-Clatonia FFA puts on Annual Southeast Nebraska Farm Show
WESTERN, NEB - Over 40 agricultural businesses descended on the Saline Center in southeast Nebraska on Wednesday.
The Wilber-Clatonia FFA Alumni and Booster Organization put on the annual Southeast Nebraska Farm Show.
“Wilber-Clatonia FFA puts on the farm show to raise funds for scholarships, help the chapter out with equipment, contests and national convention… Basically everything the chapter does all year.”
While the proceeds from the show go to a good cause, Wilber-Clatonia FFA Advisor Cara Holtorf says it also provides an opportunity for the more than three dozen vendors to share knowledge and expertise, while also promoting their products.
“They get to come talk to our area agrcilutralists, sell their products and services,” Holtrof said. “We have people from North Central Kansas, southeast Nebraska… There’s a broad range of agriculture businesses here and clients that would like to buy their business.”
Holtorf also explained the terms for students to receive the scholarship from which proceeds from the farm show are distributed.
“Students have to be in FFA for four years to be eligible,” Holtorf said. “Alumni awards that scholarship at our banquet at the end of the year, so many seniors will receive scholarships to put to their future education.”
