BEATRICE - A three vehicle crash in northeast Kansas injured one of the drivers seriously, in Brown County Monday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 71-year-old Lyle Broxterman of Fairview was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, from the accident near the U.S. Highway 36 and U.S. Highway 75 intersection.

Broxterman’s Ford F-150 pickup was traveling east on U.S. 36 when his vehicle struck the oversized load of a westbound semitrailer truck, driven by 49-year-old Carlo Rea, of Thermopolis, Wyoming.

After the initial collision, the pickup then struck a Kia Sorrento driven by Jada Quarles, of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.  Quarles had a minor injury and was taken for treatment.  Rea was not hurt.
