BEATRICE, NEB. - Southeast Nebraska law enforcement is alerting the public about a string of recent attempted robberies.

According to the Beatrice Police Department, Beatrice and surrounding areas have had a string of recent attempted car break-ins and vehicle thefts. BPD warns citizens to leave their cars locked, especially when left to warm up in cold weather. The department also suggests removing valuables from the vehicle or hiding them out of sight.

In addition, BPD suggests those owning Kia and Hyundai to park vehicles in a garage or somewhere the owner can see it, as investigations have shown the two models to be easier to stolen.

BPD can be contacted with questions at 402-223-4080.
