HANOVER, Ks. -- Two Hanover boys are raising money for a little girl who has been diagnosed with cancer and is going through treatments.

Cami Friedrichs is the 20-month-old daughter of Melissa and Ryan Friedrichs, and has been diagnosed with liver cancer.

Brett Charles and Davis Decker have been dressing up as Santa Claus and an elf to raise money for her and her family as she is going through treatments.

“We are raising money for families who have a person in the hospital over the holidays,” said Davis Decker, the elf. “It’s for Cami Friedrichs. She has liver cancer and is going through her second round of chemo.”

The two dressed up and came to the Citizens State Bank in Hanover Thursday, where residents and community members could come donate money for the family.

This was the third day the boys had set up to receive donations for Cami from the community.

The boy’s goal was to assist the family, who were in the hospital, pay their bills.

“So we could help with the hospital bills and expenses,” said Davis Decker.

The boys were in the bank for an hour, receiving donations and spreading Christmas cheer.

“Around like five people have came and the donations have been pretty good,” said Brett Charles Decker, the Santa Claus.

Brett Charles meant five families came which, over the three days that the boys set up, was nearly 100 people which amounted to almost $1,000.

The decker boys are grateful to be able to help and hope these donations can be a great gift from Santa to the Friedrichs family.
