FAIRBURY, Neb. -- The Fairbury Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Christmas light contest around the town to carry on the Christmas spirit.

The competition started on Nov. 1 and will last until Dec. 18 where the Chamber will judge the setups.

Residents can put up Christmas decorations and call the Chamber, (402)-729-3000, or nominate their decorations on the events Facebook page.

Each winner gets a cash prize with first place getting $250.

“This is the first year that we have decided to do this,” said Sharon Priefert, Executive Director of the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce. “It’s all residential. You have to be within the city limits and it is judged by the Chamber but you can make nominations on our website and on Facebook. It’s a holiday lighting contest and you can also call the chamber at 402-729-3000 to make the nominations and they will be judged next week so Monday is the last day to nominate somebody.”

The competition is only allowed to be participated in if you are in the city of Fairbury’s residential limits.
