City of Beatrice cautioning residents about association letter
BEATRICE - City of Beatrice officials are cautioning residents about a donation request regarding police operations.
Officials say some Beatrice residents have reported recently receiving a letter from a group describing itself as the National Police Association saying, the “Beatrice City Council Members need to hear from you!”, and referencing a Quality of Life Policing Form, while also asking for a donation.
City officials say the letter has nothing to do with the city.
Neither the City of Beatrice, Beatrice City Council, or Beatrice Police Department are associated with the organization and the organization does not support the City or Police Department.
Persons with a comment for the City Council, can contact their City Council representative directly or speak at a public forum at a City Council meeting.
Persons wanting to donate to the Beatrice Police Department or Fraternal Order of Police, can always do so directly at 201 N. 5th Street in Beatrice.
