NSP troopers find 100 lbs of marijuana in I-80 traffic stop

YORK, Neb. -- A California man was arrested in York after being pulled over and found to have 100 pounds of marijuana.
The Nebraska State Patrol said troopers arrested 50-year-old Enrique Alcala Zavalza Wednesday morning after being pulled over on Interstate 80 near York.
Around 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, a trooper said they saw a Nissan Sentra driving on the shoulder of I-80 near mile marker 353.
The trooper reportedly pulled Alcala Zavalza over, and during the traffic stop, the trooper said they smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
NSP said when searching the vehicle they found one duffle bag and several trash bags containing packages of marijuana. The total weight of the packages was 100 pounds.
The driver, Alcala Zavalza of Woodland, California, was arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound and possession with intent to deliver.
He was lodged in York County Jail.
