Davis sets touchdown record on Senior Day, UNK beats Lincoln 38-6
KEARNEY, Neb. — The Nebraska-Kearney football team compiled 556 yards of offense and held down Lincoln for a 38-6 win on Senior Day.
The Lopers (3-7) honored 15 seniors as part of the festivities at the final home game, including sixth-year quarterback TJ Davis. The All-American scored on a 57-yard touchdown run on the opening drive, setting the school’s career touchdown record.
Davis wasn’t done after his record-setting run. He tallied five total touchdowns — two on the ground and three through the air — on the day. He finished 17-19 passing for 229 yards and ran for 168.
The Lopers didn’t play a perfect game, though. They lost four fumbles, more than they had lost in the whole season entering Saturday. Still, the defense allowed just two field goals to the Blue Tigers (0-10).
UNK finished its home slate with a 3-2 record. They finish the season at Northwest Missouri State next Saturday.
