Lonnie D. Brown, 60, of Virginia died Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home.  He was born on June 12, 1963 in Beatrice to Charles and Arlyss (Fritzen) Brown.  Lonnie graduated from Filley High School in 1982 and then SCC in Lincoln.  He married Susan Ruyle on June 18, 1989 and they were blessed with three children, Maizy, McKaila, and Wyatt.  They later divorced.  Lonnie worked in the housing construction business for many years.  He was mechanically minded and liked to “tinker.”  Lonnie enjoyed gardening, hunting, watching NASCAR and Wheel of Fortune, and being with family and friends. 

Survivors include his children, Maizy (Brandon) Wollenburg, McKaila Bayless, and Wyatt Brown; grandchildren, Bristyl, Beckett, Olivia and Weston; sister, Brenda (Dan) Shipley; nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Arlyss Brown; grandparents, John Fritzen, Bernice Roschewski and husband Freddie, and Warren and Beatrice Watson.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Fox Funeral Home with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating.  Inurnment of the cremains will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.  Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing.  A book for signatures will be available on Tuesday from noon until 8:00 P.M.  The family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice.   www.foxfuneralhome.net    Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice.
