FAIRBURY, Neb -- Area youth will have a chance to take to the skies this Saturday as the Experimental Aircraft Association (EEA) chapter 569 hosts Young Eagles Flights at the Fairbury Municipal Airport.

The flights are part of the EAA Young Eagles program, created to interest young people in aviation.   The experience not only includes the free airplane ride but also a chance to discover how airplanes work, meet pilots, and the possibilities that come with aviation.  Following the flight, each of the participants will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle.   Their name will also be entered into the "Worlds Largest Logbook," which is on permanent display at the EAA museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

All youth ages 8-17 are eligible to participate, but must preregister before Saturday by calling Christi Higgins at 402-217-9763.   For more information you can call Jeff Engels at 402-430-6826.

Since the Young Eagles program was launched in 1992, volunteer EAA pilots have flown more than 2 million young people in more than 90 countries.
