Norman W. Tegtmeier, 94, of Beatrice, passed away Monday afternoon, October 23, 2023 in Lincoln. He was born on September 23, 1929, at Plymouth, confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, and graduated from Plymouth High School. He married Viola E. Malchow on June 16, 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church of Harbine. They lived in Plymouth and then moved to Beatrice where they lived for over 50 years. He was a long-time employee at Store Kraft. Norman was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Beatrice.  He enjoyed walking, fishing, gardening, visiting and joking with friends.

He is survived by his sons, Steve (Bobbi) Tegtmeier and Howard (Alison) Tegtmeier all of Lincoln; daughter, Maxine Ervin of Platte City, MO ; four grandchildren, Marcus (Caroline) Tegtmeier, Kaylene (Michael) Callicoatt, Derek Tegtmeier, and Dylan (Jenae)Tegtmeier; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Matilda (Seitz) Tegtmeier; wife, Viola (Malchow) Tegtmeier, who died on July 14, 2014; brothers, Milton (Deloris) Tegtmeier, Raymond (Gwen) Tegtmeier and Wilbert (Lois) Tegtmeier.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Daryn Bahn officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. and then at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice.  www.foxfuneralhome.net    Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice.
