Lorena E. Woltemath

Lorena Elaine “Lorie” Woltemath, 98, of Denver, died on Friday, September 8, 2023, in Denver. She was born on June 6, 1925, at Sterling to Henry Gottlieb and Louise Sophie Dorette (Hoehne) Woltemath. Lorie grew up in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School and the Community College of Denver. She lived in Denver and worked as an airline stewardess for Continental Airlines for 26 years. She was well known and respected for her contributions to the company. Her employment enabled Lorie to travel internationally and see the world. She was also able to treat her parents to a trip to Germany to visit the land of their heritage. Lorena was a wonderful aunt and always remembered the birthdays of her nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was a very independent lady but was deeply guided by a strong Christian faith.
Survivors include her sister, Melva Jean Eilers; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Louise Woltemath; brothers, Wilmer “Wally” Woltemath and wife Betty, Norval Woltemath and wife Marjorie, and Arlan Woltemath.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling with Pastor Kevin Arndt officiating. Interment will be in the Sterling Cemetery.
