BEATRICE – Beatrice Mayor Bob Morgan has issued a proclamation recognizing September 14th as Big Give Gage Day….the day when thousands of dollars of donations are made toward several nonprofit organizations.

The one-day online campaign last year brought in nearly $330,000. This year’s drive will help support the operations of 72 nonprofit groups or projects, and organizers are hoping to hit a goal of $400,000. President of the Gage County Foundation, Don Vetrovsky says the event, now heading into its fifth year, has raised a lot of support for the community.

"Over the past four years, we have raised over one-point-one point milliion dollars for these efforst, and what that has done for the city and the county is undescribable. This year, bigger and greater things will happen, because we have increased our membership with the nonprofits."

You can go to Big Give Gage-Dot-Org to see the list of nonprofits that are participating in this year’s campaign.

Mayor Morgan also proclaimed the week of September 10th through the 16th as National Director Support Professional Recognition Week, honoring those who worked with persons with developmental disabilities. Staff and residents of Mosaic, a local disabilities provider, attended Tuesday night’s council meeting.
