Detour Route for U.S. Highway 136 Missouri River Bridge closure
BEATRICE — A major bridge over the Missouri River will be closed, starting next week. Weather permitting, work will begin July 24th on US Highway 136, from the Missouri River Bridge to the east, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
A construction firm working with the Missouri Department of Transportation is undertaking the work on the project. It will require the Missouri River bridge at Brownville to be closed to all traffic.
The structure will remain closed until August 13th. A detour route will utilize U.S. Highway 75 from Auburn to Nebraska City....Highway 2 into Iowa....and Interstate 29.
