Cocaine recovered in I-80 drug arrest, near York
California man arrested on suspicion of drug violations

BEATRICE - Nebraska State Patrol arrested one person following a big drug bust, Friday. Officers located 55 pounds of cocaine during an encounter near York.
The incident occurred Friday at approximately 7:45 a.m. A trooper observed a vehicle with a license plate violation parked at the eastbound Interstate 80 rest area near York.
After contact with the driver, the trooper became suspicious of possible criminal activity. A search of the vehicle, a BMW X5, revealed 55 pounds of suspected cocaine hidden in a spare tire compartment.
The driver, 38-year-old Nicandro Garcia-Perez, of Chino Hills, California, was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, and having no drug tax stamp.
He was jailed in York County.
