BEATRICE – Families and their children anxiously awaiting this summer’s opening of a popular recreation spot in Beatrice will have to wait a little longer.

The City of Beatrice Splash Pad located at Sertoma-Astro Park in northeast Beatrice will not open for the summer, as planned this Saturday....May 27th.

The City’s Public Properties Department reports that a problem with a broken control module has postponed the opening.   City officials expect the new control module that’s been ordered, to be delivered within the next two weeks.

After it’s installed, officials say they’ll work to get the splash pad operating as soon as possible.
