Beatrice Humane Society announces Low Cost Spay-Neuter clinic

BEATRICE - The Beatrice Humane Society is growing their ability to treat animals in southeast Nebraska.
"In Spring 2023 we are opening the door to our Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic," a release from the society said. "After years of growth, and then research and planning, the Beatrice Humane Society is opening a Spay and Neuter clinic to provide the highest level of care our shelter animals deserve while relieving the undue burden we have been placing on our local veterinary partners as we have grown and expanded our lifesaving efforts."
One of the goals of the spay-neuter clinic is targeting the feral cat overpopulation in Beatrice, Wymore, Blue Springs and other areas of the region. The clinic also is eager to help the nearly 20% of Beatrice residents living below the poverty line and need help providing the basic care for pets including spays and neuters.
"Our low-cost services will target a portion of our population that can't afford regular veterinary care," the humane society said. "Which will increase the likelihood that they will be able to keep the pets they love."
The humane society is holding an open house at the new clinic location (200 N. 7th St #2 Beatrice, NE. 68310), on May 11 from 3:30-5 PM and will be handing out 100 vouchers for $40 cat neuters.
