Head-on two-vehicle accident leaves two injured in Lincoln County
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- On Sunday, authorities said that two people were injured during a two-vehicle accident that was head-on in Lincoln County.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said that on Apr. 23 around 11:45 a.m., their 911 Center was advised of a head-on accident that happened just west of North Platte.
Authorities said that a preliminary investigation showed that a Nissan Altima was heading east when it crossed the center line while going around a curve in the road.
The Nissan hit a Chevrolet pickup that was heading west, and officials said that the Nissan hit the pickup in the area of the driver's side tire.
The Sheriff's Office said that both vehicles were totaled because of the accident and were towed away.
Authorities said that the driver of the Nissan was a juvenile who was believed to be suffering a medical issue.
Both drivers were reportedly tended to by the North Platte Rescue for non-life-threatening injuries.
Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, and everyone was buckled up.
Officials said that Highway 30 was closed for about an hour while they investigated the accident.
LCSO said that their deputies and North Platte Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
