FAIRBURY, NE — A pair of Fairbury Jeffs teammates will stay together at the college level, although they'll play different sports.

Seniors Jax Biehl and James Olds are both heading to Nebraska Wesleyan — an NCAA Division III — in the fall. The pair signed their National Letters of Intent Friday afternoon in front of friends, family and coaches.

Biehl will be joining the Prairie Wolves men's basketball team. Biehl led the Jeffs with 18 points-per-game in his senior season. He also led his team in rebounding and was second for Fairbury in assists and steals.

His performance was enough to earn him first-team All-Conference honors in the Southern Nebraska Conference.

A major contributor his junior and seniors seasons, Biehl scored 784 points in his Jeffs career.

Biehl joins a men's basketball program at Nebraska Wesleyan who posted a 16-10 record last season.

Olds will play on the Nebraska Wesleyan football team. As a wide receiver, Olds compiled 855 receiving yards in his senior campaign — second most on the team. His 12 total touchdowns, including 11 receiving scores, led the Jeffs.

Olds will leave the Jeffs as the career leader in receiving yards with 1,600 and receptions, of which he had 80. He also holds the single-game receiving yard record for a 241-yard performance in 2021.

His signing mate and soon-to-be college roommate Biehl was Olds' quarterback for his senior year. Biehl set single-season school records in passing yards (2,585), passing touchdowns (32) and passing completions (142).

Olds joins a Prairie Wolves squad coming off a 1-9 season in 2022.
