Two Kansas men arrested in Wymore, facing multiple charges

BEATRICE - Two Kansas men are facing multiple charges after being arrested in southeast Nebraska.
Per the Gage County Sheriff's Office Facebok page, at approximately nine p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to Wymore in southern Gage County on a report of a person, or persons, discharging a firearm from a vehicle near 11th and G Street. Deputies responding to the area spoke with witnesses, reviewed surveillance video, and were able to identify two possible suspects.
A deputy stopped two vehicles, he then received assistance from the off duty Wymore police chief during the traffic stop that involved five individuals.
Deputies arrested 24-year-old Brentyn Swearingen and 20-year-old Zaide Swearingen, both from Kansas, on several charges.


Brentyn Swearingen is being charged with discharge of a weapon near a roadway, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), three counts of controlled substance, two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of possession of illegal drugs, concealing a handgun while using alcohol/drugs and open container. Zaide Swearingen is charged with all of the same charges, plus introduce contraband to secure facility and minor in possession of alcohol.
Deputies continue to investigate the case and law enforcement in Kansas have been contacted to obtain additional information on the suspecs.
