BEATRICE - The Orangemen and Lady O ran into one of the best shooting nights an opponent has had all season, as they fell to Waverly on both sides.

The Lady Orange led by as much as seven in the first half, as Ellie Jurgens and Riley Schwisow combined for 20 of Beatrice's 29 first half points, scoring 10 each. In the second half, Waverly began to make just about every shot they took - from the field, at the line, and from downtown.

The Vikings were unofficially scored at 10/16 from three and 17/22 at the line. The Vikings outscored Beatrice 29-20 in the fourth quarter, locking up a 66-57 win.

For the fourth straight game, Rile Schwisow tied or set a career high, this time setting a new one, at 19 points to lead all scorers in the loss.

Beatrice will host a subdistrict on Tuesday.

The Orangemen game was similar to the girls in the respect that Waverly hit just about everything they took, but the scoring was coming at a premium, as Waverly picked up a 55-46 win.

Beatrice got into early foul trouble with Shelton Crawford which forced Beatrice's best perimeter shooter to sit for a majority of the first half. Beatrice also allowed two buzzer beaters to end each quarter of the first half.

The Vikings' boys team unofficially shot 10.14 from three and 16/19 at the line, with a career high 27 points from Sam Schernikau. Beatrice was led by Crew Meints with 12.
