Lincoln gets more snow than expected
LINCOLN, Neb. -- In the capital city, there have already been reports of nearly a foot of snow.
An initial snowfall estimate had one part of Lincoln receiving 11 inches of snow.
It is the first time in two years that Lincoln has received more than three inches of snow.
It is creating difficult travel conditions and closed schools.
Lincoln Public Schools and UNL have called off classes.
One person was rescued after their vehicle landed in a creek in east Lincoln, near 134th and O Streets.
The storm is even affecting News Channel Nebraska's Broadcast schedule.
With canceled classes at LPS, there will be no girls basketball game between Lincoln High and Lincoln Pius X, a contest NCN intended to carry live tonight.
