LeRoy Donald Prellwitz, formerly of Morrowville, Kansas, passed away at the age of 94 on January 26, 2023, at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury, Nebraska. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children in his final days and hours. 

Lee was born on the family farm, in Mahaska, Kansas, on October 13, 1928, to Julius and Mary (Nutsch) Prellwitz. He was the 6th of 10 children. He graduated from Morrowville Rural High School in 1948. Lee joined the Army at the age of 19 and served in the Korean War. He married Elizabeth "Betty" (Brungardt) in Washington, Kansas on September 22, 1956. To this union were born six children. Lee and Betty celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 2022.

Lee was a lifelong farmer that loved the land. He farmed alongside his son, brother, and brother-in-law. He was a longtime member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Morrowville, and served on many committees for the church. In his spare time, Lee enjoyed fishing, loved dancing, and could often be found watching wrestling. He also had a love for popcorn, ice cream, and pies, particularly pecan and cherry. In recent years, he prided himself on collecting and distributing individual-sized boxes of Fruit Loops to his great-grandkids. 

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Linenberger; four brothers, Paul, Frederick, William, and Leonard Prellwitz; son-in-law, Michael Graff; grandson, Jonathan Graff; and great-grandson, Harrison Graff. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, and his six children, Debra Graff, Susan Koch, Sandra Alldredge (Donald Alldredge), Andy Prellwitz (Debra Bayes), Cynthia Blackburn (David Blackburn), Amy Fagan (Kris Fagan); sisters, Lucille Hays, Marjorie Gregory, Dorothy Brown and Patricia Bennett; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of LeRoy's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on January 30th, 2023, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fairbury. Rosary will be held on January 29th at 6:30 P.M. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, in Fairbury, with family receiving visitors to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in LeRoy's honor, designated by the family's choice, in care of Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, PO Box 15, Fairbury, NE 68352.
