Man reportedly tries to kidnap woman in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. -- An Oklahoma man reportedly attempted to kidnap a woman in Lincoln early Saturday morning.
The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to ‘Gate 25,’ 300 Canopy St. on Saturday around 2:20 a.m. for a reported assault.
Officers said they talked to the 20-year-old female victim and she reported that she was walking to her vehicle that was parked in the red parking garage. She reportedly noticed a man was following her.
According to authorities, the victim said the man reportedly grabbed her when she got to her vehicle and pushed her against the side of it. She started to scream and the man reportedly put his fingers in her mouth before trying to force her into the vehicle.
Officials said the victim managed to bite down on his fingers and her ran away. She then ran from the parking garage and found a group of people on the sidewalk that she told about the incident.
Police said the group looked around the parking garage and found 22-year-old Shawn Young, of Eufaula Okla., sitting in his vehicle and stayed with him until officers arrived.
LPD said Young was arrested for felony first-degree false imprisonment and cited/released for felony tampering with physical evidence and misdemeanor third-degree assault. The victim reportedly had minor injuries to her mouth area.
