LPD: Traffic stop leads to two arrests

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Officers with the Lincoln Police Department found drugs and a weapon during a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of two men.
According to authorities, an officer was doing a traffic stop due to a traffic infraction near the intersection
of NW 4th St. and Cornhusker Highway on Oct. 8 at 11:35 p.m.
Officers said the driver was 31-year-old Kriss Johnson. Officers found out Johnson had an active warrant out for his arrest. The passenger was 28-year-old Isaac Ironbear and he tried to exit the vehicle as the officers was trying to arrest Johnson.
LPD said Ironbear was taken into custody and he had discarded a handgun, later found to be a BB gun, while being arrested. Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded Taurus 9mm in the center console.
Johnson was lodged in jail for possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and carrying a concealed weapon.
Ironbear was lodged for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by prohibited a person, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.
