Over $40,000 worth of items stolen from Lincoln store
LINCOLN, Neb. -- A store in Lincoln was reportedly broken into and had over $40,000 worth of items stolen.
The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to Frontier Harley Davidson, 205 NW 40th St., for a reported burglary on Sept. 23 around 8:30 a.m.
Officers said the store employees called after they discovered a window on the south side had been shattered and merchandise was missing from the store. Among the missing items was a 2022 FLHXS, valued at $21,000, and a 2022 RH975, valued at $13,500.
LPD said they found the RH975 and other stolen items in a trailer that was on the property while the FLHXS was found on its side near the trailer.
According to authorities, 36-year-old Wellington Carngbe was identified in the security video and had been on the property when an employee arrived.
Officials said they found Carngbe later that day during an unrelated call for service in the 1300 block of H St. and was lodged in jail for burglary.
LPD said the total value of the stolen items was $42,300 and the estimated damage to the building, security camera and motorcycles was $4,700.
