Fairbury fires city administrator after 57 days on the job
FAIRBURY - Fairbury will again be looking for a new city administrator. On Friday, Fairbury's Mayor Spencer Brown informed City Administrator Jacob Matthews of his termination.

FAIRBURY - Fairbury will again be looking for a new city administrator. On Friday, Fairbury's Mayor Spencer Brown informed City Administrator Jacob Matthews of his termination. Matthews, who came to Fairbury from Denver, has only served as the city administrator since July 13th of this year.
When reached for comment from NCN, Fairbury Mayor Spencer Brown said "(Matthews) was just not the correct fit for the city."
Brown tells NCN the firing is effective immediately.
The mayor plans to release more information on plans for the position moving forward next week.
NCN will provide that information once it is announced.
