LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said that a department vehicle had been left unattended and items were stolen.

Officials said that between 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. a Chevrolet pickup owned by LCSO had been parked in the 600 block of N 48th Street. 

LCSO said that an unknown person(s) gained entry into the vehicle and stole a blue canvas duffle bag containing a Safe Line Defense, flexible body armor. There are no Law Enforcement identifiers on the vest.

It was reported that the body armor has pouches that contained two loaded Smith and Wesson extended pistol magazines, one 23-round and one 17-round, 40 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and an Atlantic Signal portable radio microphone. 

LCSO said that the total loss is about $2,400. The Sheriff's Office reported that there were no signs of forced entry, and there are no suspects at this time.
