LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department is looking for Gustavo Cardenas, the person officers believe to be responsible for a fatal hit and run crash.

LPD said they are requesting assistance from the community in locating Cardenas, who is said to have played a part in the death of 19-year-old Alexandor Eskra at 37th & O Street Saturday evening.

Officials said the suspect, Gustavo Cardenas, left the scene on foot shortly after the
crash. 

Investigators said they obtained an arrest warrant for Cardenas for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a Class III Felony.

LPD said Cardenas is a 28-year-old male. He has short black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’5” tall and weights 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey short sleeve shirt and dark pants.

Authorities said he was last observed walking southbound from the area following the crash.
