One person dies in Monday night crash in Lancaster County

LINCOLN, Neb. -- One person has died in a Monday night car crash in Lancaster County.
At approximately 7:31 p.m., the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln Police Department and Raymond Fire and Rescue responded to the area of N. 27th St. and Arbor Rd. in reference to a single-vehicle accident.
Witnesses stated that a white SUV was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed, ran the stop sign at 27th and Arbor, went into a bean field and became airborne after striking a berm.
Upon arrival to the scene by first responders, it was discovered the male driver was deceased. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said the driver was the lone occupant.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification to the next of kin. It is unknown at this time whether alcohol or drug use was a factor, LSO said.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
