Commissioner Mark Schoenrock files for re-election to Jefferson County Board

FAIRBURY, NE — A southeast Nebraska county commissioner is running for a new four-year term.
On Wednesday, Mark Schoenrock filed to run for Jefferson County Commissioner representing District One. He has been in office since being appointed in 2015. He won election to the role in 2018.
Schoenrock is a graduate of Fairbury High School and the University of Nebraska. He spent 40 years serving in numerous leadership and management positions as an officer of the United States Army. After finishing his service, he moved back to Jefferson County with his wife, Denise.
In addition the county board, he also serves on boards for the Nebraska Association of County Officials, Blue Rivers Agency on Aging, Public Health Solutions District Health Department, Blue Valley Community Action and his church. Schoenrock, a Republican, lists his accomplishments at the county level as establishing the Jefferson County school attendance support and diversion program, cybersecurity improvement, emergency preparedness, veterans support and more.
Wednesday was the first day a person could file for office for the 2022 election cycle.
