MCCOOL JUNCTION – Authorities have identified man killed in a crash near McCool Junction.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says it was call to Road 4 and Road J for an injury accident Tuesday evening. Deputies say that a semi and a tractor were westbound on Road 4 from Road J when the semi rear-ended the tractor.

Upon impact, deputies say, the tractor went into a nearby ditch and the driver was ejected.

The tractor driver, Cleon D. Schwartz of McCool Junction, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The York County Sheriff’s Department has released the identity of a man killed in an accident near McCool Junction.

The crash remains under investigation.

The sheriff’s office says alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident. It is unknown whether seatbelts were in use.
