Scottsbluff, Gering to host state golf beginning in 2022

The Scottsbluff-Gering area over the next couple years will be the center of Class B golf in Nebraska.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scottsbluff-Gering area over the next couple years will be the center of Class B golf in Nebraska.

The Nebraska School Activities Association voted unanimously to award the Scottsbluff-Gering area the Class B Boys State Golf Tournament starting in 2022 over the next three years.

The Scottsbluff-Gering area already hosting the Class B Girls State Golf Tournament over the next couple years which started this past season.

Several groups came together to form a strong delegation to help promote the area’s bid for the boys state event which included the Gering Visitors Bureau, Scotts Bluff Area Vistiors Bureau, Scotts Bluff Country Club, Monument Shadows Golf Course, Scottsbluff Public Schools, and Gering Public Schools.

Scotts Bluff Country Club will host the Class B Boys State Golf Tournament in 2022. Monument Shadows in Gering will hold the Class B Boys State Golf Tournament in 2023. Scotts Bluff Country Club will wrap up the three year span hosting in 2024.

The NSAA also awarded three other locations boys state golf tournaments from 2022 to 2024. Norfolk is set to host Class A, Columbus will host Class C, and North Platte will host Class D.
