Nebraska Corrections Officials Searching for Community Corrections Inmate

OMAHA - An inmate has gone missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha. State corrections officials say William Wilder removed an electronic monitoring device he was wearing, which was recovered about two blocks west of the facility.
Wilder began serving a sentence on February 7, 2017 of eight to 10-years on convictions out of Douglas County. They included discharging a firearm at an inhabited house and possession of a deadly weapon by a felon or fugitive. His tentative release date is May 29, 2023, with parole eligibility on February 7, 2022.
The 26-year-old Wilder is black, five-feet six-inches tall, 137 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of Wilder’s whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
Community Corrections Center in Omaha is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS… the lowest custody level and least restrictive facility. Inmates can participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
