BEATRICE – Beatrice Police say they are searching for a man reported missing in the recent past.
Robert “Bobby” Barton was last seen Saturday, August 15th. He was reported as a missing person by a friend, on Sunday.

Lieutenant Jay Murphy says since that time, police have received no solid leads as to his whereabouts.
"No reports of anything right now....we've just been doing a lot of searching....no indication of any foul play".

Murphy said it was not believed that Barton was employed in the local area, and had been living with a few friends. He said Barton is a long-time resident of the area. He said his mother lives in Beatrice and his father, in Omaha.

"The last place he was seen was down by Riverside Park. We did locate a couple of his personal clothing items....his shoes and his hat, on the west side of Riverside Park. So, we did some searching down there....searching on the river banks, and so forth. We've just been kind of fielding calls as they come in".

Murphy says police are encouraging the public to call the department if they have any leads, or information that may aid in the search for Barton. The phone number is 402-223-4080….or you can contact the department through their Face Book page.
