Wesley B. Dorn
Wesley B. Dorn, 57, of Adams died September 8, 2019 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on June 1, 1962 in Beatrice to John H. and Leona E. (Schlake) Dorn. Wes graduated from Adams High School in 1980 and from the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture in 1984 where he was a member of the UNL Block and Bridle Club. He married Lisa Evers on April 25, 1992 at the American Lutheran Church of Adams. They lived and farmed west of Adams. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Adams where he served on the church council, was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and was a Nebraska Synod delegate to the church-wide assembly. He served on the Adams Volunteer Fire Department, was an Ag Pen Pal with Anna, and coached Anna’s elementary basketball team. He enjoyed driving his bulldozer and fixing equipment with Ryan. Wes will be remembered for his wonderful faith, and love for his family and farm.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa of Adams; daughter, Anna (Devin) Wolken of Crab Orchard; son, Ryan Dorn and special friend, Kirsten Sullivan of Adams; two brothers, Myron (Julie) Dorn of rural Adams, and Leon (Jeanette) Dorn of Firth; sister-in-law, Chrystal (Dave) Obbink of Firth; parents-in-law, Loren and Doris Evers of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Jeff (Salatha) Evers of Columbus, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leona Dorn, and his brother, Gary.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the American Lutheran Church of Adams with Pastor Nathan Metzger officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M Saturday at the church. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery of Adams. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M. and at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M. and then at the church on Saturday one hour preceding the service. The family will meet and greet friends on Friday from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams.
