Hastings Public Schools reveals four finalists for district superintendent position

HASTINGS, Neb. – The search for the new Hastings Public Schools Superintendent has been narrowed down to four finalists.
According to a school news release, the district announced four finalists at its board meeting on Jan. 30.
The district's selections are Josh Cumpston, John Hauser, Joél Ruybalid, and Dr. Christopher Prososki.
Cumpston is currently the Fillmore Central Public Schools Superintendent, and has held the position since 2020. He was also the Hastings Middle School Principal from 2009-2011.
Hauser is currently the Director of Learning and Support at Hastings Public Schools, a position he's held since 2022.
Ruybalid is currently the Superintendent of Blue Hill Community Schools, where he's been since 2010.
Prososki was most recently the Superintendent at Southern Public Schools from 2017-2024.
The Hastings Public Schools District worked with the McPherson & Jacobson LLC firm to narrow the field of candidates down to four.
The district says finalist interviews will be conducted on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, and the chosen candidate should be selected by Feb. 10.
One of the four will replace Superintendent Jeff Schneider, who announced his retirement in November.
